Glow Inc.'s brand of glow in the dark paint is a custom-made formula designed to maximize brightness in a durable, all-purpose paint. The engineers included a suspension system that supports the relatively dense glow in the dark particles. It contains no fillers or impurities such as ultraviolet filters, which can interfere with glow pigment. It is durable for indoor and outdoor use and adheres well to most surfaces. Full curing time is 24 hours.
Glow Inc. only uses Grade 0 or Grade 1 pigments, while most Internet sources use Grade 4 or 5. We add those pigments at a ratio of 2 lbs. of phosphorescent pigment to 1 gallon of medium. The combination of high grade pigments, high ratio, and quality medium results in the brightest glow in the dark paint currently available. In fact, our paints are typically three times brighter than those sold by our competitors on the Internet and 20-30 times brighter than those sold in craft stores.
Our sample pack includes one each of our water-based glow in the dark paints.
Glow in the dark paint absorbs bright light as energy. When placed in the dark, glow in the dark paint releases this energy as a glow. You can repeat this cycle millions of times. Applied properly, glow in the dark paint will lose 5% of its brightness every 10 years. Any light will charge the paint. Direct sunlight, high wattage bulbs, or black lights are needed to obtain the maximum glow.
Glow in the dark paint is often used for professional murals and to paint glow in the dark stars on ceilings. Due to its durability, it is also perfect for painting glow in the dark fishing lures and outdoor signs. Sealing coats are not generally needed. It is critical that you apply this paint at least 1/16" thick (4 oz per sq. foot) for proper glow and a smooth appearance.
Our glow in the dark paint is shipped ready to use with a standard brush or roller. Thin with acrylic thinner or a tiny amount of water. Clean up with soapy water. We do not recommend that our glow in the dark paints be applied to the skin or hair.
