SPECIAL FIRE FIGHTING PROCEDURES: WEAR SELF-CONTAINED BREATHING APPARATUS AND PROTECTIVE CLOTHING. FIGHT FIRE FROM A DISTANCE DUE TO THE THREAT OF PRESSURES IN CONTAINERS WHICH CAN CAUSE AN EXPLOSION.

USUAL FIRE AND EXPLOSION HAZARDS: DECOMPOSITION AND COMBUSTION PRODUCTS MAY BE TOXIC.  MATERIAL CAN SPLATTER ABOVE 100 DEGREES CELSIUS.  DRIED PAINT FILM CAN SUPPORT COMBUSTION.

SECTION VI – HEALTH HAZARD DATA

INHALATION HEALTH RISKS AND SYMPTOMS OF EXPOSURE:  IRRITATION OF NOSE, THROAT AND LUNGS IS ASSOCIATED WITH EXPOSURE TO HIGH LEVELS ON AMMONIA. 

SKIN AND EYE CONTACT HEALTH RISKS AND SYMPTOMS OF EXPOSURE:  BRIEF CONTACT WITH SKIN SHOULD NOT PRODUCE AND HARMFUL EFFECTS, BUT PROLONGED CONTACT, AS FROM CLOTHING WET WITH CHEMICALS, MAY CAUSE IRRITATION. EYE CONTACT CAUSES SEVERE IRRITATION.

INGESTION HEALTH RISKS AND SYMPTOMS OF EXPOSURE:  MAY CAUSE IRRITATION OR PAIN TO THE GASTROINTESTINAL SYSTEM; CHRONIC INGESTIONS OF DISPERSIONS MAY CAUSE KIDNEY OR CNS DAMAGE.

MEDICAL CONDITIONS GENERALLY AGGRAVATED BY EXPOSURE: DERMATITIS OR OTHER PRE-EXISTING EYE OR SKIN CONDITIONS.

EMERGENCY AND FIRST AID PROCEDURES: IF SWALLOWED, DILUTE BY DRIKING TWO OR MORE GLASSES OF WATER, IF CONSCIOUS. SKIN –  FLUSH WITH WATER. IF INHALED, REMOVE TO FRESH AIR AND CALL A PHYSICIAN, GIVE ARTIFICIAL RESPIRATION IF BREATHING IS DIFFICULT. EYES – FLUSH WITH WATER AT LEAST 15 MINUTES. TREATMENT SHOULD BE DIRECTED AT THE CONTROL OF SYMPTOMS AND THE CLINICAL CONDITIONS, THERE IS NO SPECIFIC ANTIDOTE.

 

SECTION VII – PRECAUTIONS FOR SAFE HANDLING AND USE

STEPS TO BE TAKEN IN CASE MATERIAL IS RELEASED OR SPILLED:  AVOID EXCESSIVE INHALATION AND SKIN CONTACT; CONTAIN SPILLED MATERIAL.

WASTE DISPOSAL METHOD:  DISPOSE OF WASTE BY APPROPRIATE METHODS OR INCINERATE IN A FURNACE WHERE PERMITTED UNDER APPROPRIATE FEDERAL, STATE AND LOCAL REGULATIONS.

PRECAUTIONS TO BE TAKEN IN HANDLING AND STORING:  AVOID INHALATION AND SKIN CONTACT.

 

SECTION VIII – CONTROL MEASURES

RESPIRATORY PROTECTION:  IN DUSTY CONDITIONS, AS OCCUR WHEN HANGLING DRY PIGMENTS, SANDING OR SPRAYING, USE A NIOSH-APPROVED DUST/MIST RESPIRATOR. 

VENTILATION:  NONE REQUIRED UNDER NORMAL USE.  WHEN USING LARGE AMOUNTS, ADEQUATE VENTILATION IS REQUIRED. (E.G. WINDOW EXHAUST FAN)

PROTECTIVE GLOVES:  NONEREQUIRED UNDER NORMAL USE; FOR TECHNIQUES REQUIRING CONTINUAL HAND EXPOSURE, GLOVES ARE RECOMMENDED.

EYE PROTECTION:  USE SAFETY EYE WEAR WITH SPLASH GUARDS OR SIDE SHIELDS. 

WORK/HYGIENIC PRACTICES: WEAR PROTECTIVE CLOTHING WHEN NECESSARY; USE SAFE HANDLING PRACTICES.  DO NOT EAT, DRINK OR SMOKE WHEN WORKING WITH MATERIALS.

GLOW INC.'S WATER-BASED PAINTS ARE WATER-BASED ACRYLIC PAINTS AND MEDIUMS WHICH ARE NOT CONSIDERED DANGEROUS GOODS AS CLASSIFIED IN THE INTERNATIONAL AIR TRANSPORT ASSOCIATION'S (IATA) DANGEROUS GOODS REGULATIONS.  THEY ARE NOT FLAMMABLE, POISONOUS OR CORROSIVE, NOR DO THEY FALL WITHIN ANY OTHER CLASS DESCRIPTION OF DANGEROUS GOODS.
